About Kasey Rissman
Kasey Rissman, PCCA #12502
Kasey Rissman is a PCCA (PCC# 12502) at Desert Marriage and Family Counseling. She grew up in Palm Desert and returned after attending San Diego State University. She completed her master’s program in Rehabilitation Counseling and became a Yoga Instructor, developing ways to combine breath work, mediation and mindfulness into her counseling practice. Kasey understands anxiety, shame, guilt and depression and wants to help her clients recover with support, empowerment, acceptance and joy.
Kasey is well versed in multiple of therapy techniques such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) both evidence-based psychotherapies useful in treating mood disorders, self-harm, and substance abuse. Kasey has been with DMFC for 7 years while also working in a dual diagnosis treatment facility. She has extensive experience in group and individual therapy. In her free time, Kasey enjoys yoga, hiking, and spending time her husband and two sons. Grateful for an amazing group of therapist and supervisors from her past and present, she is looking forward to the future to complete her trainee hours and become a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.
